So I got an air fryer for Christmas and decided to break it in tonight with some wings! The air fryer itself was amazingly simple to operate and the wings turned out great! I cooked the wings in the air fryer, tossed them in an easy Asian style sauce I made, then put them under the broiler for a couple of minutes to caramelize the sauce. Everyone said they were fantastic! (This recipe is for a 5.8 quart air fryer. Adjust the amounts if you have a smaller one).
Here‘s what you need:
5 lbs bone-in chicken wings
1/2 cup lower sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
1 T minced fresh ginger
1 t minced fresh garlic
1 t chili sauce ( or 1/2 t red pepper flakes)
2 T hoisin sauce
2 green onions chopped
Cook the raw wings in your air fryer according to the temperature setting for chicken wings on your air fryer. I did 380 degrees for 25 minutes. I shook mine twice during the cooking time. While they were cooking I mixed up all the ingredients besides the wings to make the sauce.
When the wings are done, toss them in the sauce to coat well. Spread them on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for about two minutes. Spoon any leftover sauce on top of the wings to serve. I sprinkled mine with toasted sesame seeds and extra green onion. Delish!
